In this self-directed project, I created a functional coffee table with storage to allow for easy decluttering. Inspired by the mid-century modern style, the table is constructed from 1" oak wood, 1" stainless steel cylinders, and 1/4" glass. The piece follows a geometric S form to reflect the simplicity of its design style and includes open shelves and drawers that open to both the left and right sides. This allows for easy access by all users.

The first sketch model features drawers that open in the same direction, which isn't very convenient for users.

The second sketch model features drawers that open to the left and right sides. However, the metal cylinders don't have the appropriate thickness to support the design.
