Working in pairs, the goal of this project was to design an Acute Care Center that follows a patient-centred approach to healthcare. The design of the hospital is inspired by nature to create a healing space that connects patients, staff, and visitors with the outdoors while improving well-being and alleviating anxiety. This is accomplished through the use of organic elements, such as an illuminated sky ceiling, plant walls, organic floor designs, and much more. In addition, all furniture and materials were chosen for their durable, sustainable, and anti-microbial properties, making them ideal for a healthcare environment.
